SSS Balanga pursues employers over unpaid contributions

With the effectivity of Republic Act 11199 or Social Security Act of 2018, Social Security System (SSS) Balanga City Branch continues the second semester of Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) Operations 2023, a nationwide campaign to call on delinquent employers who fail to remit their employees’ contributions.

Employers from the municipalities of Hermosa and Dinalupihan were visited by the representatives of SSS, reminded of their legal responsibilities, and given ample time to settle them.

Branch Head Joel Villafuerte stated that this drive is not a harsh attempt to close down businesses, but to urge employers to recognize their employees’ right to benefits. Furthermore, they encourage workers to become SSS members, and to become vigilant in ensuring that their employers are remitting their contributions, to protect themselves in times of contingencies, as SSS can cover several types of benefits, including sickness, maternity, retirement, and death.
